Sip and Bake: Vegan Pumpkin Pie Making Class
Time & Location
About The Event
Baker Natalia Lima, owner of the nationally featured all vegan Curious Cat Bakery, believes everything can be veganized without sacrificing taste and she is sharing her secrets on how to make the best pumpkin pie that even the biggest meat eater would approve of in this three hour hands on class. Natalia will walk students through every stage of the process from start to finish in an informal and casual setting where beginners’ mistakes, laughs and a glass of wine are all welcome. By the end of the class students will know how to make a completely dairy-free and egg-free melt in your mouth pie crust, delicious pumpkin filling, delicate leaf shortcrust decorations and how to assemble it all in an eye catching pie they can then take home to enjoy.
Supplies and ingredients will be provided but students should bring their own pie dish so they can take their creations home.
BYOB: Nothing says “baking for the holidays” quite like working in the kitchen with a glass of wine in hand so students are welcome to bring their own bottle of wine to sip on while baking.
About the instructor: Natalia Lima started the Curious Cat Bakery out of necessity. After going vegan in 2011, she couldn’t find desserts she was truly excited about. Thinking that life was too short to eat dry and tasteless cake, she set out to develop her own recipes — which would harm no one while at the same time tasting absolutely delicious.
Everything on the menu is made to order and 100% free of dairy, eggs and animal products but you’d never know it from their taste. They’re the best desserts you’ve ever eaten — that just happen to be vegan. In fact, one of Natalia’s favorite things to do is watch the faces of people light up as she tells them that treat they are so excitedly devouring is vegan.
Natalia and the Curious Cat Bakery have been featured on local and national media including VegNews, the Tampa Bay Times and Creative Loafing.
